Kakadu Culture Camp
Muirella Park Campground
25km south from Jabiru.Kakadu Culture Camp at Australia's
world heritage listed Kakadu National Park.
Kakadu Culture Camp
is situated right next to Muirella Park Campground
so you can bring your own tent or caravan if you wish.
The camp has flushing toilets, solar hot showers and
lights, large washing tubs, excellent drinking water,
garbage is collected daily, and the billabong (150m
from campground) has a public boatramp. The camping
fees are A$5.40pp/night. The camp has an on-site manager,
Johnny Reid from Kakadu Culture Camp, a Kakadu Traditional
Aboriginal Owner from the Jim Jim area. *Please note
that there is no generator zone or powered sites available.
New deluxe safari tents
for Kakadu Culture Camp We have new canvas safari
tents for our bush camp. Our new tents are both roomy
and comfortable and available in a variety of configurations
including for families a double bed and single bunks,
or up to 3 single beds per cabin. Prices start at
A$70pp (children $35pp) twin share including breakfast,
with booked tours at extra cost. We are taking accommodation
bookings now.

Location: Driving south from Jabiru, we
are 25km down the Kakadu Highway, turn left and drive
6km to the campground, just follow the signs. In the
dry season, usually from April, you can access Djarradjin
Billabong at the Muirella Park Campground with a conventional
2wd vehicle, motorhome, or bus. It's a sealed road
to our door, only 20 minutes from International standard
hotel accommodation at Jabiru (to the north) or Cooinda
(south).

1.5 Hours from Darwin:
Hardies 4WD Track - is accessible from the Arnhem
Highway, about 5km west of the Mary River or from
Rockhole road. A separate information sheet is available.
Hardies 4wd track and Wildman 4wd track These tracks
travel along the edge of the wetlands, between paperbark
swamps and tall open forests. Highlights include majestic
fig trees, the Mary River floodplain, billabongs and
historical features. These areas provide home to the
water buffalo, wild pigs, Brahman cattle, brumbies
and an array of other wildlife. The Hardies track
runs between the Rockhole Road and the Arnhem Hwy
and passes Bird Billabong which has an abundance of
bird and other wildlife. A bird hide is accessed by
a 2.8km return walk and offers great photographic
opportunities. Allow approximately 2 to 3 hours for
this drive. Routes are open as conditions permit in
the dry season. (May to October - other times conditions
pemitting).
