Jetty Restaurant on Stokes Hill Wharf in Darwin Harbour
Oh
Hello - look at photo need we say more. We have taken
many a visiting traveller here and the views at sunset
are breathtaking.
The
Jetty Restaurant - Located in road leading onto Stokes
Hill Wharf in Darwin Harbour. Our friend maria the owners
offers our clients tone of the best restaurants in Darwin.
Nestled against the side of the harbour with million
dollar views this is a must to do in Darwin. The meals
at last count were around $27-$32 for the buffet - being
asian cuisine, roasted meats, greatseafood and etc etc
etc. the is a bar. A note for out overseas clients you
turn up early and can't book if there are under 4-6
of you. We usually arrive around 6.30pm to catch the
sunset.

Darwin
Sailing Club is on East Point Road
The
Darwin Sailing Club is a long standing institution for
locals. Now the best part about this Sailing Club is
that they allow interstate and international guests
to sign in and have a look around and dinner.
The
views at sunset would have to rank some of the best
on water.
Easy
to find and easy to park at. Even motorhomes will find
it a breezee to park at with a very large open car park
out front on East Point Road.
Best
time to go is 6pm to catch the sunset.
WARNING!!!!!!!!
Do not forget your camera.

Ten
Litchfield
Located at 10 Litchfield Street, Darwin - Take a phone
as it's hard to find Tel when in Darwin 8981 1024. Actually
an easy way to describe it is a side street one over
from Cavenagh Street. If you go down Knuckey Street
from the Smith Street Mall it's the second street on
the right.
>>>>>>> As any true local would
know - Tim (a very close friend of Marg and myself)
know hows to treat his patron's. Great prices, good
meals, natural outdoor shaded setting 'Ten Litchfield'
has it all.
>>>>>>> Actually we went to the
APT xmas party there in December 2007 and it was so
crowded but bursting of the 100's of folks comes Tim
with that grin that would charm anyone and shouting
our names. That's Tim for you even in a huge crowd (his
crowd) he makes you feel welcomed. Our Vote:

Rendezvous
Cafe Best
Many locals really like their Laksa in town and a range
of Asian dishes to please the discerning pallette.
Located
at the back of the Star
Village in Smith
Street Mall.

|
The
Vic
Located in Smith Street Mall
To
anyone you asked it will mean something different. Like
maybe you had your 18th there, you met your best mate
there, after years away your first drink was at The
Vic. It has a memory for everyone. (My
memory - thanks Manuel C. who knew how to party in the
80's).
Also
known for the last 30 years as one their favourite first
stopping spot's for our visiting Australian Navy folk
on shore leave.

Malaysian
Takaway
In
the food court to the left of the Smith Street Mall
off Knuckey Street is one of Darwin's little Gem's.
The entrance is pictured here and when you go in there
is a malaysian Takeaway (Owned by close friend's Richard
and Lilly 2 of the nicest people we have ever encountered
in Darwin).
Their
cook makes a fantastic 'Green Chicken Thia Curry'. We
always buy a few and frieeze them for later and at around
AUD$8 it's a great dish. Now you can't Richard (if he
is there) he is from malaysia and usually sit's there
just smiling or taking the dishes to the table. He has
that smile which is like he found the meaning of life
smile. Our Vote:

Salvators
Can't
miss it it is opposite Smith Street Mall on Knuckey
Street. Cafe but a good place for a bit and coffee/tea
and watch the world pass you by. The service is quiet
good when we have been there - very professional and
rather quick for the volume of traffic they had through.

Mitchell
Street located one street back from the The Esplanade
and one street over from the Smith Street Mall in Darwin,
Northern Territory, Australia. Mitchell Street is currently
regarded by the locals as our entertaiment district.
Did you know around the late 1980's the entertaiment
district was also covering Cavenagh Street and the Top
End of Mitchel Street.
Nowdays
it is centred around a 500m stretch of Mitchell Street
in the CBD. Mitchell Street is regarded as the nightlife
centre of Darwin with it's cinema's, sidwalk cafes,
open air sidwalk bar's, upmarket restaurant's, 5 Star
hotels and quaint Irish, English oh yes and Aussie pubs.
We are proud to say Mitchell Street is one our 'clean,
proper and peaceful' entertaining areas of Darwin for
the friends, groups, family or singles. Especially our
own Darwin Entertainment Centre.
This
photo's sums up Mitchell Street's flavour for trend,
style and old Darwin charm -The euorpean vista bike
outside of the sidewalk cafe nestled in an old style
Darwin building.

We

folks requiring transport this is what we feel is our
local luxury from of transport.
- Private
Hire Cars - This web sites favourite mode of tranpsort
