Parking
In Darwin
Free Parking
- after business
hours - Meter Parking (Pay and display parking)
- during business hours
There are
a few zones, simply the closer to the CBD
the higher the rate. The cost ranges between
$1.20 cents and 60 cents per hour depending
on where you park. Last look it was about
$1.20 for 3 hours on the highest rate.

Our choice
for parking has to be meter parking next
to the Post Office in cavenagh Street. It's
perfect for smaller motohomes and 4WD clients.
The Esplanade
is our second choice. There is around 2klm
of a straight wide road (see photos below)
and see the photo opposite. This 6 berth
had now worries. When he came out he had
a few attempts and the Darwinain folks in
passing cars let him take his time - That's
Darwin. Here is the Darwin City Map of all
the parking - scroll down to page 2.

The Esplanade - Our favourite is The Elspanade
as you can see the photo above motorhomes
can pull in and out of the parking spots
quiet easily.

Free Parking
Woolworths in Cavenagh Street Darwin
has great free parking for their shoppers
and often see our motorhomes in there.
The ANZ,
Commonwealth, Bendigo and National Banks
are all within 150 metres of this carpark.
|
 |
|
|
The
Mitchell Centre
is located on Knuckey Street between Mitchell
Street and The Esplanade. Actually it's
next door to police headquarters.
There
is free parking for 3 hours. For for the
conditions at the boom gate.
This
is under ground and we don't recommend Motorhomes
as there is low clearance and very difficult
for a motorhome to reverse out of. Though
great from our 4WD client just pay attention
to the height limitations.

right to Knuckey Street is again a parking
meter area but as you can see spacious car

 |
|
|
If you travel
along Lambell Terrace from the roundabout
roundabout for app. 300m you then turn left
into Mitchell Street. As from the picture
top left and top middle there is wide cark
spaces for around 1klm. There is an area
near daly street where the parking is none
or limited then after Daly street it becomes
parking meters again. See picture top right.

| Stuart
Highway - Now there are folks who think
they will park on Stuart Highway so the won't
get lost in the city. (2 of our clients twice
this year actually). Folks if you park here
the walk into the city will take you anywhere
from 15mins to 30 mins depending on you and
in the heat add 10mins. As you can see there
si plenty of parking 'Metered' and some free
in the CBD itself just a few metres from the
Smtih Street Mall. |

-please don't spoil your holiday by drinking
over the legal limit and driving.
Instead nominate
a spare aauthorized and approved driver
to the rental company at pickup.
Always lock
your cars and check you have your key on
you first. We lock ourselves our of our
